KS | Knee Flexion ROM (Supine)

EXERCISE USE

This helps you to increase the flexion ROM (and then extend your knee) in a gentle controlled way to prevent or work stiffness out of your knee. This is a common post-op exercise to hlep improve flexion (bending). For surgical clients - make sure you check with your Physio on what you limit is for the rehab weekyou are in.

INSTRUCTIONS

Start in a long-sitting position on the floor (preferably) or on a sofa or bed if you can't get on the floor. Push your heel gently down into the floor and slide your foot back towards your bottom, BENDING your knee as far back as tolerated. You can using your hamstrings (back of thigh muscles) to help pull your leg there. Slide back down to straight again.

SPECIAL NOTES

To make this exercise easier you can do it on a slippery surface like lino or a polished floor and wear a sock to make it slide better, To assist the movement with a towel around your heel to pull you knee into flexion.
